Archeologists in Argentina have unearthed what they believe might be the biggest animal to ever walk the planet.
The fossilized bones found in the desert near La Flecha, about 250km west of Trelew, Patagonia shows the dinosaur was 40m long and 20m tall, weighing in at 77 tonnes.
Scientists have identified as a new species of titanosaur have said the animal was bigger than the previous record holder, the Argentinosaurus.
Palaeontologists from the Museum of Palaeontology Egidio Feruglio, led by Dr Jose Luis Carballido and Dr Diego Pol, told BBC News: "Given the size of these bones, which surpass any of the previously known giant animals, the new dinosaur is the largest animal known that walked on Earth."Güncelleme Tarihi: 17 Mayıs 2014, 17:53
