US supervolcano can erupt at any time

World Bulletin / News Desk

Scientists who have been analyzing the US supervolcano beneath the Yellowstone National Park have found that it is able to erupt at any moment without a trigger or any warning signs.

The volcano, which is hundreds of times more powerful than most volcanoes in the world, could engulf the entire world in darkness and ashes should it erupt. It is predicted that it would also lower the average global temperature by 10C for a decade.

The last time such an event occurred was 70,000 years ago, when Lake Tuba erupted in Indonesia, blocking out sunlight for a number of years and leading to global cooling that lasted for thousands of years afterwards.

Yellowstone last erupted 600,000 years ago, but is still considered to be an active volcano.

It is thought that humans went through a bottle neck at that time. May down to only 1500 breeding pairs. I really like Yellowstone, so lets be nice to it.
