Turkey will go to the polls on March 30 to elect local administrators and city mayors.
In the last local elections in 2009, the overall winner was the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party, despite losing votes compared to the 2004 elections.
In the country's two largest cities, Istanbul and Ankara, the party renominated incumbent mayors, Kadir Topbas and Melih Gokcek.
The party nominated former transport minister Binali Yildirim in the third largest city, Izmir, which is regarded as a stronghold of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP).
