Two people have been arrested in the western province of Balikesir for their alleged links to ISIL terrorist organization, a governor’s office said on Thursday.
According to the statement by the provincial governor’s office, the gendarmerie forces conducted a counter-terror operation in Edremit and Havaran districts to arrest two suspects linked with the terror group.
The suspects, who are identified by their initials O.K and R.S, are Afghan nationals, it said and added an investigation has been launched.
At least 319 people have lost their lives in ISIL terror attacks in Turkey, where the terror organization has targeted civilians in a suicide bomb, rocket and gun attacks.
