Search and rescue teams Thursday recovered the body of the last miner trapped inside a flooded mine in the central Karaman province, a Turkish relief agency said.
Eighteen miners were trapped on Oct. 28 when a water pipe exploded, flooding the mine located some 400 kilometers south of Ankara in Karaman’s Ermenek district.
The teams have been working for 38 days to save the trapped miners since the incident occurred.
The bodies of the miners will be identified through a DNA test.
