Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has said there is a "new Turkey in the true sense" after Sunday’s referendum result.

"In this New Turkey there will be reliance -- the goals of 2023, 2053 and 2071 will be reached," Cavusoglu told a crowd which had gathered at the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party’s provincial office in Antalya, southern Turkey.

Cavusoglu thanked volunteers and organizations who worked hard for a Yes vote in the campaign.

"We did everything possible in our hands to get a Yes as a result for Turkey. I want to thank all my friends in the common cause who, as in every election, devotedly, without any benefit, worked for the blessed journey, for the Republic of Turkey, for the homeland, for the nation, for the flag, for the state," he added.

"It is our honor to work together with you, shoulder to shoulder, to walk on this blessed journey with you," he added.
